Aula 2

In this class we continue crating our personal website page.
We also created our blog, dedicated to this subject. Then we linked both of them using FileZilla.

After we finish this, we start with the introduction of AutoCAD 3D.

For the first exercise we start by creating two perpendicular lines:

DR ➜ (directrix)
AXE ➜ (axis)

In the AXE midpoint we mark the F point:

Ind the middle point between the line DR and the point F we find the V point (vertex):

We create a circle with the centre at F and a radius superior than the distance between the point F and V. For example in this case I did a radius of 16 units.

Then we do a OFFSET of the line DR with the same units that we used at the previous circle radius.  16 units

Prepare the Layers:

Back at the exercise,
we mark the intersection points of the new line and the circle we created:

We do another circle with the center in F (or we can just do an OFFSET of the first circle) but with more 2 units (for example) than the circle before. In this case this new circle will have a radius of 18 units

Then we do another OFFSET with 18 units of the line DR ( 2 units more than the line before) or we can simply do an OFFSET with 2 units of the line we created before:

Mark the intersection points between the new circle and the new line:

Repeat this process two more times
Also mark the V point
Using the last process we do a new line but this time with 20 units more than the last line we did :

Do a circle also with more 20 units than the last one we did:

Then we mark the intersection points between this two new elements (it is probably necessary to extend the line until it intersects the circle)

Using the command SPL (spline) we select all the points we have been marking.

We put the line we created in the parable 2 Layer.
SURFTAB 1  50 (lines parallel to the axis that define the surfce)
SURFTAB 2  50 (lines perpendicular to the axis that define the surfce)

After doing this the  surface of our object will have a much round looking appearance, we can do it more subtract if we want by putting a smaller number.

Then we use the command REVSURF and we select first the line defining the parable and then the line defining the axis (AXE):

Then we use ORBIT and SHADE to have a better view.

We copy this exercise and star another from this one, back in the 2D view.

We do a OFFSET in the parable line of 1 unit (for example).

Now we put that knew line in the parable Layer

Create a line that connects de parable 1 to the parable 2

And we make a circle

Clear all other lines using TRIM we have this result:

And we repeat this process on the other edge
Using PEDIT we select the bigger line in this case and ENTER, select JOIN and ENTER again
And we repeat this process on the other edge

We now do the REVSURF to build the outside parable:

And then we do the REVSURF to build the inside parable:

We copy this exercise to start the next one
And we clean the parables:

Now we do the REVSURF using the line DR as axis

And we repeat the process with the other parable:
